GS Battery Vietnam Co., Ltd. Honored in the Top 20 National Green ESG Enterprises 2025

On December 20, 2025, in Hanoi, GS Battery Vietnam Co., Ltd. (GSV) was honored to be ranked among the Top 20 National Green ESG Enterprises 2025 under the National Green Environment Program (VMTXQG).

GS Battery Vietnam is a leading enterprise in the manufacturing and distribution of batteries in Vietnam. With advanced technology, modern production processes, and strict quality standards, GS consistently delivers durable, safe, and environmentally friendly products. Currently, the company operates three manufacturing plants with a total area of over 45,000 m², providing stable employment and income for more than 1,200 employees and workers.

To achieve its CO₂ emission reduction goals, the company has upgraded machinery and replaced high-pressure factory lighting with solar-powered lighting systems. GS actively reuses and recycles raw materials, utilizing pure lead and lead alloys sourced from suppliers where 98% of the lead materials are recycled from used batteries. The company has also established a long-term emissions reduction roadmap in accordance with international standards such as ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol.

GS applies green manufacturing technologies, including air filtration systems and closed-loop wastewater treatment, while emissions are controlled through continuous online monitoring. Energy efficiency is optimized through automation and high-efficiency machinery.

Through the reuse and recycling of materials, the company has reduced solid waste by 15–25%. Defective lead components and materials generated during production are collected, classified, and remelted into calcium lead alloys. After quality inspection, these materials are returned to the grid casting process as input materials instead of importing new ones.

In addition, GS uses pure lead and lead alloys with 98% recycled content from waste batteries, applies precise measurement systems and automated casting technology to reduce defects and scrap rates, and uses recyclable plastics instead of mixed materials. The company also promotes green packaging and logistics, reusing wooden packaging, pallets, and plastic battery transport containers through multiple cycles. Delivery routes are optimized, and electric forklifts are used to reduce emissions.

Every year, GS implements various environmental Kaizen initiatives, such as installing translucent roofing sheets, energy-saving LED lighting, solar power systems, cooling towers, and collecting treated wastewater for irrigation, machine cleaning, and factory sanitation. The company also introduces recycling partners to collect used batteries from distributors, promotes lead recycling, and implements projects aimed at CO₂ reduction.

GS regularly participates in the “Toyota Greening Schools” program, planting trees and creating green zones for schools, while raising environmental awareness among students and the community. The company has established CSR policies and a Code of Conduct that emphasize efficient use of materials and energy, waste and emission management, and strict compliance with environmental standards and legal regulations.

In 2016, GS Battery Vietnam was awarded the “Green Enterprise” title by Binh Duong Province. In 2025, after surpassing more than 100 corporate submissions and meeting 30 ESG evaluation criteria, the company was honored by the National Green Environment Program as a “National Green ESG Enterprise 2025”—recognizing its continuous efforts as a pioneer in partnering with the Government toward achieving Net-Zero goals, for a greener Vietnam.
